Nice, fresh Cab Franc. Nose has classic dark cherry fruit, but only a hint of walnut oil, and a high toned mineral note. Super fresh, fruity, and bone dry. Very pure and cleansing. This is a nice change of pace for meals where I would typically grab a nice Regnie or B-V.

Probably the best cab franc I've had in a while. The green pepper is easy dialed down while still being distinctively cab franc.

McCarthy & Schiering, $15

Cherry and pencil shavings on the nose. Lighter bodied and smooth with very mellow fruit. Kind of reminds me of Gamay with the fruit toned down. Good minerality mixed with what I can only describe as faintly "green" - this must be the bell pepper I learned to look out for in Cabernet Franc. Also getting an anise-like sweetness on the finish with long lasting tannins. Also the perfect amount of acid for me, which is probably less than most people like but it was refreshing compared to the acid bombs I've been drinking lately. My first Cab Franc and first Chinon, I very much enjoyed it!

Nice subtle old world chinon. Has that dusty flavor only found in Europe. Not very long in mouth and maybe a tad green, but good.

Comparing to the Beaudry earlier this week, this is more fruit driven & doesn't have the structure. That said, it offers a lot more enjoyment in youth with dusty summer cherries & silky tannins offering a hint of textural grip. Classic Loire Cabernet Franc here.

What a lovely Cab Franc! Such a pleasant finish. Everything I like in Cab Francs, yet they are so rare and hard to find in this part of the Hemisphere. At first the smell is funky, but the taste and finish are super pleasant!

Pepper, blood, forest floor, a little spice, stemmy tannins, and medium acid. Simplicity and freshness.
