#bordeauxblend that is comparably better than some of the Aussie blends I’ve been tasting lately. “Calentito”as we say in Spain which means you can feel the alcohol like a dragon in your lungs. #ravenswood #merlot #malbec #cabernetsauvignon (how annoying is the misspelled hashtag in @Delectable Wine of #cabernetsaugvinon) it’s the worst! And a pinch of #petitverdot #ravenswood

Quite Bordeaux-like in character. Red currant, blackberries, cassis, peppercorns, menthol, tobacco and even a bit of graphite. Great restraint and finesse in the cellar is very evident, even though this is going to take years to really open up. Tremendous effort, and one of the finest examples of Sonoma Mountain Meritage.

1991 vintage, late night Christmas night cap. Took about two hours to get to where in needed to be in the decanter, absolutely worth the wait for this old girl. Lots of life left in this bdx blend from a house known for their zins.

Some of the best Merlot in CA. Can't wait to work with this vineyard.

What your wife opens when you're out of town to punish you for being out of town. 10 years down the road, and this has years and years left to age. But not mine.

Holfing up nicely, but its last breaths aren't far away.

1998 vintage. Tannins not yet resolved, and probably never will be, unless necrophilia is how you prefer your fruit, as they are green and not ripe, but I see that as positive. Fruit is vivid and the acidity lively, there are flavors of cloves, allspice and a herbaceous twist belonging to those early picked berries. Yet, this is another testament that higher Brix levels ain't necessarily the answer.
