Once part of the Beychevelle estate, this is the 2nd wine of Chateau Branaire Ducru. The grape varieties are typical Bordeaux, with Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. A medium bodied wine, with plum, blackberry and cassis. The fruit is very present, with soft tannines. After 10 years in the bottle still young, but soft, and years ahead of it still. Surprisingly good quality for about 17-18 Eur. Formidable!

I liked this but it didn’t blow me away or anything. Black cherries and plumb. A bit of spice and tobacco. Oak. Smooth tannins.

Huge! A bit of a kick on the back end. Great with pasta. Fruity and smooth notes on front end. Catches you well! Settles well.

Nice restaurant purchase. Served a bit warm. Nice wine. Classic BDX profile from a good year.

Well the actual medoc wine of this Pauillac chateau is on a different league their haut medoc version is respectable: there is a more cab flavor to it medium body great color and still unrefined tannins on this admittedly young bottle money for value is great nevertheless!
