While certainly no gold medal winner, this is a serviceable Chianti, much better than its abysmal ratings here might suggest.it’s a good food wine, with bright acidity to stand up to cheesy, carb-y dishes. Blueberry and blackberry flavors dance over restrained oak.

Good week night wine, picked it up for a good price in PA (Chairman's Selection) Berry, cherry, a bit of acidity, earthy undertones. Worth picking up if you can get it for about $10.

Hot, pronounced nose of blackberry, strawberry, leather. Cigar box, vanilla. Medium+ body, dry. Smooth finish. Decant it.

Dark red-purple in the glass. Black cherry, plum on the nose. Fleshy palate of black cherry, some vanilla. Tannins surprisingly soft and acidity strikingly low for a Riserva. Not bad wine, -- works well with my cheap pizza -- but not what one should expect from the classification. Even six years on, I should be getting more "oomph" from a CCR. Glad I paid a wicked low price at the state store, and understand why I could do so. Don't hold. Drink up.

2009, uncharacteristic candied fruits, lacking acidity

2009 vintage. Tasted like any standard chianti classico. Bright cherries and raspberry. Lean crisp.

Higher acidity, fruit forward, sweeter than anticipated, probably not for me.

For $9, this is great. Surprising balance , a bit tart at first but finishes w some nice burnt cherry.

Decant, decant, decant. Price was right for a week day wine.
