Metamorphosis Saint Helena Cabernet Sauvignon

40th birthday wine. It's a big napa cab with great bold ripe fruit flavors, but I did find the finish to be a little to tart for my preference.

2006. Our Monday night guilty pleasures. Don't judge- We've known one bachelor and one contestant, so it became addictive. Cork crumbled yet a cautious decant and this is a great bottle.

Great cab. Smooth and rustic. Well balanced. Enjoyed it on New Years Eve 12/31/2015

Oak is a funny thing...I like a little of it for the vanilla flavor - here it might be a touch heavy. Nice berry flavor though.

Really nice example of a St Helena Napa cab. The 2008 was maybe a smidge past its prime but still very nice structure and enough funk to make it interesting.

This one took is on a journey from alcohol heavy in the beginning to Bologna and fruity and ending smooth as silk. Had it at Mr Parkers in Palm Springs ... No corkage! Went well with the Kobe short ribs and a Sirloin. Wine was better than the food by a mile.

Decanted for about an hour. Very smooth and flavorful. Glad I have 3 more bottles!

Full body, strong oak, nice!
