Love Croatian wine so much, such a diverse region. The server described this as sandy and minerally, a risky wine, and the chance was well worth it. Gooseberry, lemon, yellow flower on the nose, a bracing palate full with yellow orchard fruit, sea salt, and white stone. Long finish. A win

Only a total of 20K bottles of Grk, re-phylloxera grape from #Korčula #Dalmatia are made. This is the best I tasted.

Light straw color, on the nose quite aromatic, white flowers and sliced pear, and with a hint of citrusy herb notes. On the palate it has great acidity, and gives nice mineral aftertaste, medium long finish. Very impressed.

Aug 21st, 2020Grk is really a lovely grape. A shame it only grows in this one village on this one island off the coast of Croatia. Well, a shame for you if you’re not here, but a delight for me!! Really minerally and refreshing. Must be something in the sandy soil here that gives everything that vanilla hint. Paired by the vineyard with salty feta. I’ve been told that there are less than 50,000 bottles of this varietal produced each year. Get some if you can! Only $14 at the winery. Costs more elsewhere.
