Mother of God. Full bodied is inadequate. A little jammy, more than a little earthy, smoky. Awesome with a sharp cheese - at least it would be if I had any.

One of my favourite reds. Like an old world wine but not too heavy and no distinct tannins that are overpowering. Great with beef. Quail's Gate winery is beautiful - spectacular setting with friendly knowledgeable staff. The restaurant menu and service great. Weather permitting sit outside and "drink" it all in! Chef stopped by our table with fresh picked strawberries still warm from the sun which were delicious - a real table side treat! They also grow their own herbs. This winery is in the Top 10 in the Okanagan for sure!

A Marechal Foch from BC’s Okanagan Valley. Marechol Foch is a hybrid grape that is particularly resistant to cold which led to wide range planting in Canada. BUT generally as a cheap plonk wine to be made in quantity.

This winery here, however, is considered the one that has mastered Marechal Foch. And this wine is SO good. Big jammy blackberry flavour for days.

Leather, barnyard funk, plum, black cherry, liquorice. Reminds me of a Pinotage. Will likely love it or hate it. Big and bold

Little sweetness with the balance of acidity. Good evening wine.

Precisa respirar antes.

Would recommend pairing with spicy dishes, or as a full bodied desert red. Notes of dark cherry, charred oak. Not bad for an old foch!

Great value. Tastes like it should cost more.

Coffee grounds on the nose, an opaque, dark plum colour with a palate that starts with notes of chocolate, violets, subtle black cherry and finishes with a lingering toasted oak & cola. Outstanding.
