Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Wednesday Wine Committee and what a fantastic line-up by John! Typical format of 1 sparkler, 3 whites, 4 reds, 1 dessert wine. All tasted blind.

One of the best 2011s I’ve ever had. Morlet is the winemaker. Wow! Nose almost smelled like American oak was used...not sure if any was or not. Entire fruit spectrum, nutmeg, cocoa, with a lingering finish that was almost mint like. I guessed 10-yr old Ridge Monte Bello...high praise!

Needs some time. But I liked it better than the 2009. Great structure. This baby will be long lived.

More shut down then the 2008 this wine while still great needs another year or two to really shine.

Holy crap, where has this wine been all my life. So freaking great. knights valley fruit and a genius in Luc Morlet as winemaker.

This 2010 was deep, rich, structured. Good balance, prolonged finish.

A beautifully aged Cabernet. Soft and elegant with drying tannins. Lingering fruit along with secondary earthy notes from the bottle aging make for a great evening. Drink now though, I don’t foresee a whole lot of long term upside from longer aging.

Surprisingly delicious

I tasted at the Linked Vineyards release party, the 2012 vintage is drinking well now but will continue to improve over the next 10+ years. This is a fabulous example of Knight's Valley Cabernet.
