La Mannella 2010 Brunello open for a week and still holding strong. Very young bold wine. Going to be awesome in a year or so

Here is a wine from a great vintage that is bred to go the distance. Good fruit with aggressive tanins and acidity lead me to think that it needs at least another 5 years

Don & Lid gave this to Graham in 2008. Having it with Brittany style leg of lamb in the midst of a tearing blizzard. It is still very tannic. Not much nose in spite of the Riedel glasses. Maybe should have left it another 12 years? Or maybe it is simply too cold to show well. ABV 14%

A density to the structure, with powerful fruit and a concentrated, clean palate.

Beautifully balanced with good fruit and no obvious sign of aging. Some notes of leather and pine needles. Rounded tanins a good wine

Fruit was gone, tannic on the finish. Out of balance. Group agreed.
