2018 vintage. Second wine of Cru Classé Malescot Saint-Exupéry. Charming nose with ripe black cherries, raspberry jam and some floral hints. This medium-bodied, fruit-driven Margaux is drinking well already with silky tannin and good length. Not very complex, but a very charming wine indeed. Abv. 14%. Good value at less than half the price of the Grand Vin, even if I would rate the less expensive La Tour de Bessan (tasted alongside) higher.

Lean and super elegant. Reminds us of a burgundy with bigger tannins.

Fantastic second label from Château Malescot Saint-Éxupéry. It opened up beautifully after 30 minutes and really showed why the 2015s have been rated one of the best vintages. It has stronger notes of earth than other Margaux that I have tasted and on the palate there is a nice elegant balance of red and dark fruit, black tea, vanilla, hint of lavender, very velvety and silky on the finish. I personally would not hold this bottle for too long like I would many others, but it will continue improve with time. Cheers! 🍷

Vintage 2011 / dark colour, beautiful smell, complex with vanilla, cedar, milkchocolate, laurel, stewed red fruit, refined taste with narrow spine. Still tannic but good with food after aeration. Partnered it with Uzbek Plov made from basmati rice, lambsmeat, spices and carrots. #margaux #Cabernetsauvignon #merlot #cabernetfranc

Pruney, figgy, then savory hints of charcoal & cedar. Ripe, floral, dirty; definitely #bordeaux. Killing it with teriyaki ribs.

Unlike it's big brother, the little sister is open and ready for business

Excellent vintage which helps. Good balance between fruit, tannins and acidity. The first wine is 10x better though and not too much more expensive...

Very interesting ( in positive way ) however not the best Margaux around that is for a certain.

Well balanced but not particularly memorable.

Somehow this is a second wine. Bold dark fruit. Tannins integrating. Finish is forever. Malescot’s main event is even better, and this is an incredible starting point.
