Dark purple with enticingly peppery nose. Needed 3 hours post decanting to be drinkable but the improvement versus even post 1 hour of decanting was marked. Somewhat chewy even then and probably best with food / a good steak.

Still powerfully fruity after a dozen years, it's not that hot, despite the vintage. Really good value, balanced and long.
