Les Chouacheux Beaune 1er Cru Pinot Noir

dried cherry, dried strawberry, nose is delicious, tart fruit on finish. Softly grippy tannins.

Nose of opulent plum, blueberry, dark cherry, wet stone, licorice, and (slightly) sweet vanilla. Medium concentration. Medium+ intensity on the palate (and nose). More minerality and violet notes coming through on the palate. Medium acidity, medium+ tannins, and medium+ alcohol. Medium+ finish. 15% new oak.

One of the highlights of our last Burgundy trip.

Still going strong.

Concentrated blue and red fruits. Deep and rich. Fairly tart. Tannins are present on the finish. This tastes much younger than the 2008 Charles Noellat Beaune 1er Les Epenotes we had last night. This will hold for years.

Excellent. Concentrated Pinot fruit. In a really good place.

Translucent Ruby color and light bodied with nice acidity. Sour red cherry and light earth notes leading to a smooth lightly peppery finish. Delicious red Burgundy.Paired well with our grilled chicken salad, and also great on its own!

Transparent Ruby color and light bodied. Smooth with Muted red berry fruit. Not complex, but a very nice everyday drinker.

Un bon Beaune. Le 2011 gagnerai a passer quelques années en cave.

2008 - Acid bomb! Maybe needs to soften more but start a bit harsh. Eventually mellowed a little and mixed ok with food. Not horrible. Just not great.
