Not corked this time! Really pretty wine. Savory dark red fruit. Plush tannins and relatively low acidity.

The main reason I’m scoring lower is because I had Ridge Mataro ($42) and Dirty and Rowdy Mourvèdre ($26) this week and they were both equally interesting for far less than $70.

Oh heavy and deep and it’s someone who gets into my head and body and soul. As Mourvèdre/monastrell/mataro does. It is in my body because it is balanced: alcohol acid and body seem to waltz whilst NOT waiting for the unbalanced part: the onslaught of flavor. Those parts are moshing(body): leather and funky high toned but aggro tobacco orange peel all sorts of sour red and black things and an umeboshi plum are the sharp acidic cinnamon veil over all so my soul is here thinking and...

Rich, melange of fruit, tar. Yet still has some energy on palate that finishes nicely. Bit of heat; drink now. No Brett on this one.

Nose: blackberry, chocolate. Palate: Brett to a degree reminiscent of having a mouthful of braces in high school. Did someone say horse sweat? Disappointing, as I've loved other vintages of this wine.

For a big wine it was nice and light.

Mmm. Currants, raisons, dates, leather, and some bretty barnyard funk. Nice.

Lots of currants and dried dark fruit up front, but balanced with fairly bright acidity and leathery, earthy tannins. Spice notes also linger.

Delicious albeit rustic wine, especially with food. Tannin quality suggests that this still has a good bit of time ahead of it.

Great Bandol blend. Dark and aging very well...
But of course this is the Red, not the white.

Dusty, spicy, elegant dark fruit, with pepper and exotic herbs. Snappy fruit, with a tannic, earthy stemmy finish. A lot brighter and a lot less tannic than other vintages I’ve had of this - really nice stuff.
