2005. Dark. Brooding. Inky. Delicious. Had it opened for two hours to decant and responded greatly. Tannins so mellow and the dark fruit intermingled with all the earthy funk. So so good

99% Syrah and 1% Grenache. Starting to lose its fruit. Some dusty tannins hanging on but I would drink up.

@paxmahle kills it His alternate label exudes a refined Syrah. Deep rich sweet cherry with perfectly refined tannins. Light hints of black pepper add depth and character. Lower amounts of acidity, mean this is ripe for consuming. Just awesome

Really firing right now after one day of air. Explosion of Forrest, berries, and leather on the nose. Palate is big but tons of tart cherries and blackberries, more fresh herbs and eucalyptus. Long finish with crushed berries and tannin.

Intense. Little hot for a Pax wine. Concentrated burnt red fruit.

If you’ve followed me at all, i love @Pax Mahle wines. This is no exception. My last of 6 bottles. Killer. Fruit is sure waning. Smoke and olive on the nose. Deep blackberry with smoke and olive tapenade and lingering mushrooms. Still some acidity but on its way down. Stored right has a few years left. It’s all structure now. 45-60 seconds of luscious finish.

Liking this a lot, but it’s a big wine for a Tuesday night. Big nose of dark fruit. Some savory and peeper with a nice finish. Need to give this some time. May leave some for tomorrow.

Again Pax impresses. Musky Dry and savory. Started to fade after opened an hour. Still love it though.
