An initial California 2012 look - no rhyme/reason...a little Cab, Prop. Red, Pinot and possibly an outlier or two. The rest are tagged the same. This one ranked #7.

Single vineyard, Oakville Cab in a clean balanced style. Way over-delivers its price point.

CellarTracker.com gives this an average value of $21. For a 92-93 point Oakville cab, that just might be the best QPR I've seen lately. Half of this wine was extracted from Coravin about 6 months ago and the remainder went down tonight! This is a wine that borders on full bodied and has a solid structure. JUST on the full bodied side, but the complexity makes up for it. The nose is youthful oak and blackberry....classic. The entry is black fruit, fig newton. Hint of grilled meat to the middle, classic blackberry core, bit of herb, bit of spice. The finish is solid. Truffle, hint of bitter chocolate, slightly stiff tannin that is still quite present, just enough black pepper to warm the throat. This one can probably go another 7-10 years. Completely agree with the 2017-2027 window.

After a little bit of a hiatus with my wife suffering from GI issues, I have been a little bit off my delectable game. This wine sort of re-centered me and brought me back into the game! First one in a while that I have wanted to post! What an incredibly rich and robust Cabernet. Oakville fruit, and you can taste the oak, blackberry, cinnamon, still extremely tannic. I cannot imagine rating a 2013 or 14 version of this wine, because I just don't think it's possible at this point. This one still needs an hour or two to open up, but is a 94 even after immediately pouring

Opened up a bit after a few hours. Nice fresh crushed blueberries with a hint of dark chocolate.
