One of the best, most balanced pinots I’ve ever had. And it’s from Germany?!?!? Telltale earthiness on the nose, the palate is heavy with flavors of cherry, some strawberry, and a nice acidity making it a perfect match for food. Finishes with a dose of baking spice. Soft and round, this was excellent.

Classic, elegant nose with ripe cherry & dark berry. A touch of toasted wood, a pinch of baking spice.
Mellow on the palate, with cool freshness and rounded mouthfeel from the wood. Finely polished tannins. A great length. Delicious!!

Dark & brooding, with great depth & purity of fruit and dark spices in the background. Sour cherries, dark sweet cherries, a whiff of huckleberry.
Tightly wound on the palate with fine, grippy, juicy tannins and brilliant cherry acidity. This has presence & focused complexity yet remains very elegant.
This is a stunning, profound wine.
(The fact you can get a small bottle for 9€ on board of a Lufthansa flight is today’s surprise of the century!)

In a real sweet spot right now! So good, floral aroma with dark fruit and dried kirsche indeed, firm but with great finesse!

2010 vintage. Medium-light ruby hue. The nose is crushed raspberries, black cherries and woody spices. There's some white chocolate notes and caramel. On the palate, medium plus acidity and alcohol, medium body and medium plus concentration of flavour. Medium tannins - fine. Good finish. Drinking really well now but will keep for a while yet.
