Firestone Walker Brewing Company
Reserve Series §ucaba Barley Wine
Delicious. But further strengthens @corkyphilly thought that this beer does not age. Thins out. Dries out. Good but not opulent like when released!

Apr 2nd, 2015I did not know what to expect. 42 units on IBU with a very sweet nose. Starts very reminiscent of a Belgian Trappist, but caramel takes over. Crisp finish. First taste, I would not order again. After the first glass I ordered another. Different, but it grows on you.

Feb 22nd, 2015The 15s are out, so thought I'd open a 13. Softer than upon release... Firestone has the best barrel program (this one and parabola), they're characterized by what I enjoy most: complexity and balance.
