Not great. No flaws, just unexpressive and boring. Perhaps overshadowed in the lineup on this night. I prefer younger vintages of this.

14’ d'Yquem "Y" 75% SB 25% Semillon.
Let this warm up & open up in the glass for a good 30+ minutes. Medium gold color. Yellow/green apple, apricot, white peach, pear, hint of honey. wrapped in light/medium acidity. Everything plays together beautifully. Wonderfully made wine.
Want to thank Ronnie for not just picking up this wine and throwing it into his wine cellar for the last year +. Just being an all-around great guy. Thanks again for everything. @Ron R . Wanted to give this a proper post from last nights dinner.

Very pale lemon in colour. Notes of lemon and butterscotch. On the palate delicious and refreshing on the lighter side of medium palate weight but medium plus intensity. Oak making its presence felt without overstaying it’s welcome! Well balanced - with air some honeyed nuances finishing with a slight saline note. A blend of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc - not sure of the exact percentages for 2015. This producer obviously known for its stunning Sauternes. My first taste of the Y - one of the 1001 wines. Too expensive to be a regular purchase but must drink more White Bordeaux.

Jun 29th, 2020From the illustrious Château d’Yquem, a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon. Lively and fresh and with a gorgeous nose. Lemon pie, coconut, honeydew melon, and hints of sea salt. Finishes super long. Fantastic Bordeaux blanc from one of the elites.

Beautiful nose. Found it tart and sweet at the same time... in a good way... like sweet and sour is good.

This was in prime health at the tender age of 47. Beautifully aromatic and it tasted just as I imagined dry Sauternes would. A lovely curio for a school night - 1972
