The 2016 Morlet ‘Passionnement’ Cabernet Sauvignon is a barrel-select wine which was dedicated to the winemaker’s wife, Jodie Morlet. On the nose this shows beautiful fresh red rose petals with deep dark fruits, tobacco leaf and a touch of milk chocolate. Dense and marvelously layered, this wine seamlessly glides across the mid-palate, delivering creme de cassis, blackberry pie, dusty terroir and shades of red cherry tomato flavors that mingle harmoniously together. While impressive now, this will only improve with some bottle age. Drink 2020-2040- 95

Heck of a 3rd Friday to kick off the holidays!

In comparison to the other Morlet on the table, this seemed more ripe and dense. Where the other was elegant and finesse driven, this was powerful. Lots of baked dark fruits. Cocoa dusted dates, plum, blueberry pie and graham cracker. Drinking really well right now. Awesome bottle

Opened this beauty on Friday with friends. Chicken and peppers was being served. This paired beautifully. Thank you to my buddy Paul @Paul Treadway Huntington Beacher for sharing this beauty with me!!!!!
What an elegantly gorgeous beast it was. I adore Oakville cabs. This was a big, over the top Cab that is firing on all cylinders. Front, mid and back with a minute + finish. Dark fruit, Oak and a hint of tar. I dig it!! Thank you Paul!!!
Rockstar pull to say the least. WOTN and deserves to be called Badass in a glass!!

15% alc.

Lots of (French) oak on both the nose and palate.
I could see this score high with certain critics based on the sheer size but I found it somewhat out of balance and have doubts it will ever "find its feet".

Still a VERY good wine but given the pedigree (and price point) I was expecting a bit more.

09' Morlet Passionnement It's a blend from To Kalon, Missouri Hopper & Knights valley.

Don't know what to think about my 09's from Napa Valley. Love them! Not in love with them. Awkward drinking stage?

Nose- Blackberry, cassis. Palate-Black cherry, tobacco, mint & bitter chocolate on the mid palate. This 100% cab is slightly hollow. Drinking with nice length and complexity. I'm guessing the front of the palate should catch up to the back? Hold.

Good bottle of wine. If you can find the 2008... recommend highly.
