Lots of similarities between this and the ‘14 MEtain it was enjoyed alongside. Main difference here is that the dark fruits were accompanied by rich dark chocolate and added notes of plum. Loads of sweet blue fruit here (love that in cabs), with sandalwood, toasted oak, and nutmeg. Decadent.

A big Cabernet with a plush mouthfeel. Dark fruits, hints of chocolate and sweet vanilla, silky tannins and a long finish.

Delicious purity of fruit. Celia welch is the wine maker (same as scarecrow) and this shares many similarities to the 2012 M Etain by scarecrow. Nose of blueberry pie with blackberry liquor on the palate accompanied by sweet tobacco wrapped up in silky smooth tannins. Finish ends with a touch of toasted marshmallow. My hunch is this will be ideal drinking in a couple years when the tannins mellow just a touch. Delicious wine

This bottle is an exercise in texture. Supple and sexy is the best way to describe the experience. Plenty of fruit and tobacco but instead of a stiff punch in the mouth, it’s presented in a glove of cashmere. A fun wine. Drink now, probably? A generous gift from the cellar of C. Medley.

This is a pretty big wine, but it's got a great freshness and balance. Just a touch of heat on the finish but well integrated oak. Big black cherry daddy.
