2012 vintage. Opening up beautifully. A true surprise of the evening! Dark berry, plum, kirsch/pleasing sour cherry, slightest smoked meat, bit of black pepper. Saddle shoes (don't laugh; it's a memory & an image). Nice structure, pleasing tannins & finish.

Opens with prune inside mildly oxidized framework. Palate sweet soapy and clipped. Expands with air reveling spice and sea air.

Kinda dead. Not like the last bottle that we had, more oxidized and lots of black olives.

This is so tasty, the flavor and intensity builds on the palate beautifully. Great finish too! Red and black fruit, peppery spices galore.

The brett never got too overpowering, because underneath was some beautifully mature fruit, white pepper, and floral tones.

Evan bought in France and saved for a special occasion with people who could appreciate it. It expressed the essence of garique. So deep and spicy.

La Côte de lAnge is not a top Ch. Neuf de P label. But it is a quality label of of the second tier that represents a good quality to price ratio. One would think that 2010 would be a high point, and maybe it is. But even 2010 is not a superior effort. Very intense, yet undefined, purple fruit and lots of menthol. It’s a pleasant and even intense drink. Nothing wrong. But not the highest expression of the terroir.

A very gastronomic wine. Matured, ready to drink, round, cherry casino notes hints of earth and leather.
