I say it’s the most beautiful vineyard in the world. But that wouldn’t mean nearly as much if the wines of @ripponvineyard weren’t as honest and soulful as they are. This wine (a press sample I’m nursing) is a baby yet, still waiting to unfold into its fullness. Nonetheless, it’s damn tasty in all of its raspberry, sour cherry, and pomegranate, green herbs and dried flowers brightness, with citrus peel in the finish.

Incredibly fresh and seamless fruit and floral aromatics. Preserved strawberry and straw. Perfectly integrated richness from oak regiment. Last bottle drank was in a savory umami stage 4-5 years ago, but this was singing at peak somehow.

On the nose, red perfumed florals, dark cherries, cherries, strawberry preserves, cherries and pomegranate. On the palate, cherries, dark cherries, strawberries, pomegranate, fragrant florals for days, nice soft spices, cinnamon, vanilla, powdery tannins & minerality. The fruits brighten and the spices grow on the long polished rounded acid finish. Photos one shows their low yields and photo two shows the staff enjoying second breakfast.

I meet with a lot of wineries that talk about being bio-dynamic. However, none of them are more passionate about this practice than Rippon. They love talking about it with great passion and truly walk the talk. In the photos are a huge pile of cow dung, stems, dropped fruits etc.. It all goes back into the vineyard to nourish the vines. The fruit to make "The Mature" comes from the Emma's and Tinker's vineyard. On the nose, light red fruits, beautiful fresh red florals and light spice. The palate is medium bodied with lean fruits of; dark cherries, plum, strawberries, raspberries, black berries, warm spices, bright red roses, gritty minerals, fine chalkiness, beautiful acidity and a well polished finish. Additional photo of their Cellar Door grounds.

Another good Rippon Pinot. Really develops with air. Drank way better on night 2, so I'd decant if possible.

Deep red fruit/cherry/cranberry, kind of on the savory side. Black tea. Backing spices. A potpourri of florals.

Cranberry, cherry and leathery aromas with bright red fruits. A bit less extracted than the following year.

Any Pinot lovers dream. Lighter style with a lot of raspberry flavors. This wine is pricey well into the $70 retail range. Nothing super special for that price unfortunately. Sorry I am ripping on this wine.
