Sagrantino di Montefalco

Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG 2009, 15,5%. Bottle tasted in June 2014. Very intense and dark color. Nose rich of dark fruits marmalade, and spices. In the mouth the tannins are round but prevalent, quite enveloping. Pleasant, but not a favorite of mine.

Big dark fruit, leather and cherry tobacco.

Deep garnet. Plum, tar, cherry, olive, oak. Med+ body, pretty high tannin, med+ acidity, dry. 14.5%. Young, lively, smooth yet tannic, well integrated. Yum.

What can’t be great about a rustic tannic sagrantino while sitting outdoors in the shade under fans and it’s your last day of work.

Like someone smashed a cherry pie on a hot tar road. Tasty.

Needs fat. So much fat. You need to saturate your mouth with fat to battle the tannins. If you do, you shall reap the rewards.

Спирты резковаты... дали подышать и разошлось. Второй раз брать не буду.

Big chewy great depth

Очень мощное вино: жимолость и малина, кожа. Полнотелое и весьма танинное, с хорошим потенциалом. Баланс и послевкусие в полном порядке.
