Still a little spritz in the wine. But totale different from a few and young GV. Some of thee chardonnay aging is found here als well: light creamy butter. Less mineral and somewhat more ripe tropical fruits: pineapple and mango. Certainly a reason to let some bottles mature longer.

Hopler Grüner Veltliner 2017: tangelo, gold melon, bread-y lemon, ripe and dried white apricots, dried pineapple, ripe snow peas, a hint of rosemary and even fainter after-hint of white pepper. Really showcases the classic Grüner notes in an affordable package. Light citrus mouthfeel with tangerine-lemon, lemon zest, lime pith, and dolma around grapefruit.

Fuller body than I expected from a Grüner Veltliner! Lime zest, stone fruit, and something funky (petrol) on the nose. Wouldn't have guessed Veltliner if I was tasting blind. Great paired with spicy dishes.

Ridiculously undersung food wine. Crisp, fruity, earthy, and enough good acid to chew through spice or clams or pork or BBQ chicken. To be repeated as necessary.

This wine is truly a pleasure to drink. Tart acidity beautifully balanced by fruit. Great with food, great on its own. I hope the world never discovers how incredibly delicious Gruners can be so that they will always be such great bargains.

Always love this wine. Probably one of the most underrated whites on the planet.
