Just opened a bottle of 1997, and it held up great. Very complex. Still a hint of tannins, but nice and smooth. Worked great with beef tenderloin.

Pretty easy to drink but a little acidic to me. There were hints cigar box that lingers which I liked. It did seem to have a nice mix of fruit as well.

From my 💎 gem papa this is a phenomenal wine 30 second finish , ripe tannins but well integrated cedar,anise, cinnamon on the nose and on the pallet.. also with huge huge black currant on the tip and on the back end with a tart cherry finish!
