Grand Vin Seigneur Cahors Malbec

Dark purple, color almost to the rim. Inviting nose of blueberry and black plum. Palate echoes the nose with charred cedar and a hint of graphite added. Medium full body. Velvety medium plus tannins. Finessed and food-friendly, this is an excellent introduction to the original Malbec. Not as powerful as some higher end interpretations, but still a great buy at around $30. And this is an excellent vintage. Drink now through 2027 or so.

Ruby red with dark fruit aromas and slight spice. On the palate flavors of Blackberry and cherry with licorice, cacao and pepper spice. Medium body, fine drying tannins, medium finish, lively acidity, ending with fruit and sweet spice.

Juicy blackberry, pungent earth. Inky and dense. 91.

Fantastic aromas of dark chocolate and blackberries. The flavors are dry and finish long.

Blueberry nose, black cherry entry, a lil' smoke on the finish. Prototypical Cahors. Sufficient acid to handle much greater concentration of fruit leaves a vague feeling of weakness in the juice.
