Coming in at the same quality as the 2022, the 2021 Condrieu Chéry is an athletic Viognier, neatly capturing energy and freshness. Banana, apricot, peach, vanilla, blossom and honeysuckle all race out of the glass. Medium-bodied at most, it concludes with solid persistence on the stimulating finale. (Nicolas Greinacher, Vinous, March 2024)

Pale to mid Gold in colour. A cornucopia of fruits on the nose including pineapple, pear, peach and apricot. A full bodied delicious white with some sweetness and low acid. A few hours later, the same notes as above. Unctuous, mouth filling and delicious on the palate which finishes dry. Drink now for great enjoyment of the Viognier grape. One of the 1001 wines.

Pale gold. Powerful orange, melon and peach nectar aromas show impressive clarity and take on a sexy floral nuance as the wine opens up. Silky and densely packed, offering vivid citrus and pit fruit and candied ginger flavors complemented by a subtle anise quality. Finishes with strong mineral cut and powerful thrust, leaving pit fruit and lemon curd notes behind. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, May 2020)

Pale to mid Gold in colour. Notes of honey, honeysuckle, a little ginger and oxidative notes. On the unctuous full bodied palate Apricots and glaced fruits. Low acid and with Condrieu best drunk probably a little earlier than 7 years. A delicious drink nonetheless - one of the 1001 Wines. Postscript: Chery is considered one of the two most noble vineyards in Condrieu along with Vernon.

The 2008 is the best of the Cherry trio. Again viscous and apricot but sustains longer and unfolds in a way that is fractionally more elegant.

Crazy stunning. So viscous yet not heavy. Tropical. Apricot turnover - having had one for breakfast it is really in mind.

Stunning, viscous, rich with pears and peaches. Creamy. Somehow fresh with minerality. Aggressively gorgeous.

Stunning. What a nose. White chocolate, apricots, lilacs, so aromatic. Enough acidity to maintain enough freshness as this is rich but very refined. Like foie gras in a way. Savory bitter finish in the best way.

Petrol and gunflint on the nose - salty miso and soy on the palate with mild marmalade and a lanolin texture. Intriguing.
