Absolutely love this Sierra Foothill Mourvèdre! One of the best in the region. A different cat than a big muscular Bandol, for sure, but rather a beautiful & graceful wine in its own right. This winery excels with this variety, as it does with Grenache.

David Girard Vineyards Estate Vineyard El Dorado Mourvèdre 2011: Full-bodied. Slight brown/rust in color. Layers of red & dark fruits. Leather. A nice smooth finish with some lingering spice. In my opinion, this was a very Nebbiolo like wine! All in all, a perfect ending to our mountain cabin life! Cheers🍷
