Classic coastal Syrah. Peppery red fruited and awesome

In Mag. Too young. Needs more time. Pencil lead as I would expect. But seems wound up. Tight. Should be better on Day 2.

Lean.

Deep ruby, with tar, crushed violets, licorice, smoked meat, iodine, forest floor - very broad range of flavors. Loads of ripe, silky tannins and good acid lift. More floral than spicy- compact and restrained but still powerful. Lovely wine with long finish.

In Mag. Ten years young. Pencil lead. Concise. Great balance with tannins and acidity. Nice weight. 13.5 so nice.... I think we all agreed that Northern Rhône Cornas with some St Joseph.

Dried herbs, berries, earth and spice

Medium. Running lean. Good structure.

Immediately taken back by the unique color glowing purple, nose of violets, red roses and smoke, blackberries and hints of black pepper on the palate with a lingering finish

The masculine profile has held up better than the more feminine ‘11 La Bruma, but still missing the expected Peay weight and depth.
