Great for the price. It's definitely a no frills napa cab. Who can complain?

Dark ruby in color with a brick hue and a purplish rim.

Earthy nose of blueberries, cherries, licorice, oak, vanilla, bell pepper, tobacco, earth, pencil lead, peppercorn, leather, smoke and vanilla.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with blackberries, blueberries, plums, cherries, licorice, oak, vanilla, chocolate cake, coffee, vegetables, raspberries, peppercorn and spices.

Medium plus in finish with soft tannins and bitter herbs.

An average red wine, but not a typical Napa Cabernet. Earthy and well balanced. Feels more like a South African Cabernet or even a Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile.
Not one for sipping on by itself, but good with food. This was a tricky vintage. I had this a couple of years ago, and I can't say it changed much, other than some fruit loss.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

This Cabernet has an unusual screw closure that leaked. Nonetheless it was a solidly structured cocktail wine.
