80% 40 year old Grenache, 20% Syrah. A meaty muscular style. Super ripe fruit, almost cassis, some dried fruit. Smoky and leather. Full but soft, meaty, very light acidity and soft tannin. Mixed black fruits, dried fruit, going into black olives. Quite warming.

Wonderful CdR - Grenache dominated. None of the cloying over fruited nature you sometimes get. Excellent aromatics - lighter red fruit especially. Good length and a very nice refreshing acid on the finish. Perfect pairing with steak frites au poivre at Paul Bert. Great value.

Fulsome. Nose is all earth and charred bacon in front of blackcurrants, but then fruit hits you, ermm, fruitily. Tannins are soft and well integrated. Spicy, warm finish. Yet another reason to remain in Europe, damn it.
