Surprising. Almost fizzy- secondary fermentation? Quite funky- Brett? Very vital and alive with a lees-y quality. Bright and precise.

A surprise! From the 2010 vintage, this had the weight of white burg and density. Acidity of Trebbiano. I was shocked at how good this was.

Firm reduction which doesn’t blow off in a decanter, plenty of saline, briny, cool minerality, savory fruits, citrus and olives. Lots of texture and weight but also very light. Another wonderful expression of what “natural” wine is capable of being.

Jul 18th, 2019Wooly, waxen, funky in the best ways, slight peeking of volatility which isn’t off-putting in the least, the savory and mineral aromatics and flavors are sitting in a nice place. Feels ready to drink and not mature at all.
