The first thing you notice is the orange rim. The smell of violets is over powering in he glass. Tobacco, tar, leather are prominent and the tannins are still firm. A wonderful wine with a long finish. After many Langhe and Nebbiolo d'alba wines it's nice to get back to Nebbiolo at its pinnacle.

Medium garnet sweet nose of strawberries and cream caramel. Drinking incredibly well for a 2009. Makes me think this winery is more of a modern style Barolo. Has racy acidity and good fruit, tannins are pronounced with a tea bag sensation but balanced on the whole. Renews my faith.

Wow! One of the most aromatically intense Barolos I have ever had. Perhaps it helps that I’m drinking in Barolo. The palate is expansive and velvety smooth. Exquisite.

Impossible for me to say this wasn't the wine of the night, then the Palari came along. That impossible debate aside, this is an incredible expression of Nebbiolo. Nuanced, elegant, beautifully integrated tannins, and silky smooth finish that seemed endless. Violets, cherry, leather, and tar harmoniously paired together. Special wine, thanks @Scott Petrus.

I liked this wine so much that I went back and bought out the stock. The wine is currently at its peak. Tar, violets, along with still supple tannins give this lively wine structure. The flavors are dynamic with tertiary flavors present in mass. Tremendous wine.
