Slight funkiness and earth reminds me of old Chave Hermitage from the 1970s. This isn't bad in my book but it does obscure the fruit on the nose. Starts with sweet dark berry fruit and finishes medium grippy with a slight funk carrying through the finish.

Sep 23rd, 2014It needs time to breathe... Proper decanting or let it sit in your riedel red wine glass. I blew out my palette drinking it too quickly so I didn't forget to post the details. Notes: red raspberries, pepper Tannins: hits the tip of the tongue first then resides to the sides of the tongue. Leaves your mouth dry & slightly tingly. Very high alcohol taste. Pairings: 60% or higher dark chocolate, red meat, fingerling potatoes, duck or rabbit might be nice.
