Delectable lists this as a Nebbiolo, but I think it’s a blend. It’s as honest a basic dinner wine as you can get. Flowers, earth, macerated dark cherry. Savory in the mouth, with earthy, clingy flavors, framed by good tannic and acid structure. Bottle given to me by my bro, who remembers me bringing various 1960s and 1970s Vallana wines to family dinners in the old days.

F*ck me, this is delicious! Beautiful, almost crystalline fruit underneath a lean slightly barnyard attack. Honest wine. Man one could drink buckets of this. What a fantastic wine, what a ridiculously undervalued thing. 2010.

Sweet core of cherry jolly ranchers enveloped in delicate perfume & tannins. Tar, acid, florals. Quenching finish. A true gourmand wine. Superb, and an incredible value.

Lots of tar and good acidity, soft tannins. Tobacco, dried roses, a little black pepper. Good chilled and opened up nicely during dinner.

Nebbiolo based, with other local non- specified grapes. Not explicitly a Neb wine- that classic flavor profile is there, but you’ve got to look for it. This wine grew on me.
