Consumed in the famous old restaurant of Grassilli in the foodie city of Bologna. The walls covered with photos and etchings of famous opera singers. Great food, limited wine list.

2010 vintage. Drinking beautifully now, but no hurry to drink this. Black fruit with hints of violet and subtle herbs. Very ripe fruit and slightly severe tannic structure,like a California cab and a left-bank Bordeaux meeting halfway. Very good acidity.Great value.

Polished, deep dark juice. Mocha and blueberries. Well structured, big but pretty. Lots of finesse. Kiwi and red currants on the finish. Just getting better and better. This stuff is dynamite.

This wine definitely needs a few years to soften the firm tannins. An impressively structured wine that has clear pedigree. Complex and evolving through its long finish. definitely recommended
