Scrio Toscana Syrah

Not the best vintage for this wine. Succulent and rich with a hint of bitterness on the finish.

I don't drink Syrah often but when I so I like it to taste similar to this. Still a little delicate - maybe young vineyard.

Nothin' that special considering the price: sediment, weak texture and soiled..

Found this gem on the wine list on my one night in Florence. The mark up was only €20 so I was happy to splurge on this bottle. Only 3800 bottles were made in 2019. It is a very polished and balanced Syrah with a strong aromatics. Blueberries, herbs, bacon fat, licorice and fresh notes of menthol.

Hate to say it, but this wine is a mess. Not flawed, but hot, unbalanced, woody.

Was extremely excited to try this bottle but unfortunately it didn’t live up to my expectations. Decanted for 4hrs. Tasted throughout. Beautiful nose but just fell flat. Seemed like a soft wine structurally so maybe drinking earlier on in its youth would have helped?
