Tonights wine is the 2019 La Croix Ducru-Beaucaillou. Saint-Julian Bordeaux Blend 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 46% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot.

On the nose there is black cherry, blackberry, black currant, chocolate, spice, black pepper, minerality and earth.

On the palate there is black cherry, blackberry, plum, black currant, green bell pepper, black pepper, spice, vanilla, minerals and dark rich earth.

This is a full bodied wine well balanced medium + acidity and medium + mouthcoating firm grippy tannins that taks you into a long black fruit woody finish. Lets all have a wonderful weekend and enjoy family and friends the best we know how. Please be healthy and stay safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Happy Pinot Noir Day! Tonight I am celebrating with the 2009 La Croix de Beaucaillou. This left bank 2nd Class growth 2nd bottling blend is 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Merlot from Saint Julien.

On the nose there is black cherry, blackberry, rich plum, black currant, cassis, spice, violets, cedar, woodsy notes and earth.

On the palate I am getting black cherry, blackberry, plum, black currant, licorice, cedar, graphite, wet gravel and earth.

This wine is full bodied with a soft supple unctuous mouthfeel and a medium to medium + acidity a medium to medium + fine savory tannins that move into a long dark fruit pencil lead finish. A beautiful Left Bank Bordeaux from Saint Julien and a shining example of the 2009 vintage. Have a wonderful rest of your week and please stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Nice minty nose of red fruit and baking spices. The flavors are still very youthful. Lots of dark fruit, plums, cherries. Tannins still present, but integrated. Very impressive for a 11 year old “second wine”

This is stunning and hardly needs any air at all, which is absurd for a '10. Brightly contrasting fruit and red rose petal, cinnamon, and jam on the nose. Velvety smooth texture with some tobacco, raspberry compote, and a finish that makes you salivate for more. This is the kind of wine I dream of drinking until I die. This is what cabernet was meant to be.

Impressive.
This is impressive for a second wine, but requires more time in the bottle. Notes of coffee, charcoal and cedar in the nose. Palete is muscular and dense. Consistent with the nose. I'm familiar with Ducru, and the past just washed into the present - a super second wine.

Vintage 2000 - this wine impressed me. Just starts to come. Rich and classic, complete in balance. Wow!
