A few days late in posting the Wednesday Wine Committee wines. Standard format with 1 sparkler, 3 whites, 4 reds and 1 dessert wine. All served blind.

I looked back at my notes and noticed I had this about a year and a half ago. This bottle was different...in a good way. I’m assuming this may be an older NV as it was channeling more yeasty and caramelized notes. Very nice crisp fruit layers here. I guessed NV champagne.

Weekly Wednesday Wine Committee and this was a special treat as not only was Weston from Montagu Wines in attendance, but Jason Moore, owner and winemaker for Modus Operandi Wines out of Napa. Blind format as always. 1 sparkler, 3 whites, 4 reds and 1 dessert.

One of the more crisp sparklers I’ve had. Had the chalky minerality through and through, but after a while, it gained a bruised pear note aside from the typical Granny Smith apple tartness. This will age nicely.

It took a while to open up. Touch of sherry, brioche with incredible depth. I wish I had more.

Très élégant, fin, long, manque un peu de volume mais il reste un grand champagne

Enjoyed a glass along with a charcuterie platter at Collard-Picard on Avenue de Champagne. I quite like this 50/25/25 C/M/PN blend. 14/7-2022
