Cuvée du Baron Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend

Pure red berries with good intensity. Cracked pepper nuance throughout the nose and palate. Generous but well balanced between fruit & structure.

More subtle, less forward than most CDPs. Cherry and floral components. Some spice and earth. Elegant, nice finish.

BIG BIG BIG. Needs hours to open up, or years to settle down.

Black licorice, fig, mocha, potting soil, some more black and blue fruits, some pepper on the back of the palate, French oak influences, moderate plus tannin with as much or more acid behind it. I love this.

Body. Fruit. A tinge of Brett. It feels natural in this wine. Integrated. Still makes a nice glass of wine for the State of the Union!

Too much Brett

Very gamey on the nose...notes of red cherries, barnyard, earth

Classic CdP from a legendary producer. Tar earth leather and dark berry fruit. Thick. Like a piece of fine steak.

Brett up front. Blows off quick. Big fruit. Short finish.

Underwhelmed by this one. Alcohol and not much else.
