A medium bodied cool climate Shiraz with spice and a little pepper. A nice wine but I feel the district is better suited to the previous varieties tasted. The Balhannah Shiraz may be the exception.

A museum release from the winery - I bought this at a Shaw and Smith tasting in Brisbane a few years ago. An asparagus note initially which blew off. Asian spices, raspberry, earthy mineral notes on nose, carrying through to the medium to full bodied palate. A nice balance between cool climate and warm climate characteristics. Finishes with a little astringency.

Strong at 12yo
There is no time during self isolation that allows bad wine.

Ruby with aromas of dried baked berry fruits with some floral and spice notes. On the palate black cherry with plum and sweet vanilla flavors adding in some notes of black pepper and floral tones. Lively medium+ acidity on medium tannins, full body with a bit of alcohol present, medium+ length ending with a fruit, herb and toasty character. Has potential for short term aging. Tasting Sample.

Deep ruby red. A fuller style for a cool climate Adelaide Hills Shiraz. Spicy and savoury with red fruits and oaky notes. Quite substantial tannins. Very early in its drinking window. Needs time to develop some complexity - a little square sided at the moment. Next in 2 to 3 years. Ended up taking a bottle to sister Helen’s place in Gloucestershire. Tasted with consistent notes - the oak seemed better balanced on this occasion. On 24th July 2019.

A lovely savoury plummy nose with sappy rich notes. Mature cool climate Adelaide Hills Shiraz but this from a warmer year making it a more traditional SA Shiraz. I could have said some whole bunch fermentation but apparently none. From the Shaw and Smith maturation programme and purchased a year or 2 ago. Finishes with an astringent note.

WOTN for me.
The decanter aka pirex bowl had this beauty singing.
Fruit 100%, colour and tannin all in check. Just a phenomenal pleasure.

Apple blossom aroma, red tree fruit. Lacking tannin and a bit short.
