good 'erse' wine erupts on Etna: spicy red-berry delicacy powered via the volcano (& the grapes Nerello Mascalese & Nerello Cappuccio) in Tenuta di #Fessina Etna Rosso 'Erse,' toothsome with sublime pumpkin - #Sicily #Italy #WineWednesday

Seems whole cluster. Almost like Beaujolais meets Mt Etna. Good nevertheless.

I don't drink from Sicily often. Bit of an acidic bite. Spicy and the volcanic mineral quality is definitely present. Livened up a meal home in quarantine a few nights ago. Not too stiff, opened up fine after an hour. Red fruit with a nice finish.

Italy. Red. Sicily.
A blend that is lighter than I am used to for this region. More oaky than fruity, this was good but I prefer nero d’avola. Went well with ziti al forno. Nerello mascalese. 13% alc by vol. Price point was higher than other Sicilian wines ($20) so I wouldn’t get it again. It would be an 8.0 for me otherwise.
