cab sav (63%) merlot (32%) cab franc (5%) …. Superb. Needs a few minutes to open, but what follows is deep aged plums, mint and pepper. — a year ago
The small joys you find at the back of the cupboard. Superb .. vanilla, mint and berries wrapped in a super smooth coat. Nothing short of bloody good! — 3 months ago
Noice! Plenty of fruit still in this, but not as rounded across the entire palate as I recall. Nevertheless delightful for a decadent Balgowan lunch — 4 months ago
Single vineyard blend of cab sav, merlot and cab franc and cellared for a decade. Well worth the wait. Silky smooth, round drops of cherry, chocolate and mint. My only complaint with Highbank is that the corks seem to disintegrate on opening. — 7 months ago
FINALLY … this is starting to open up. The sharp (and intrusive) tannins have mellowed. It remains not as rounded as would be expected. It is nevertheless very quaffable, — a year ago
Disappointing to be honest. There is a tartness to the palate that, while not unpleasant, takes away from the experience ADDENDUM: I had this over 3 nights and by the third night it had mellowed substantially. Perhaps it just needs a good 10-12 hours in a decanter before serving — 4 months ago
@DruRescke and the Koonara club. This is a bloody awesome aged Shiraz … rich, deep old berries, a hint of mint, pepper that slides across the palate. Truly a gift from the angels! 2008 vintage — 4 months ago
Everything an aged Shiraz should be .., complex earthy tones overlaid with subtle hints of mint and berries. — a year ago

From vines grown in the killing yards of the original heathcote arbitrator comes this beautifully rich and deep aged Shiraz. An absolutely bloody bewdy! Mint, berries and age all conspire to deliver this lovely drop that rolls across the palate like gold.
If you’ve been lucky enough to secure some of this and have it at the bottom of your cellar, now us the time! — a month ago
