Had in Newburyport at Brine - absolutely delicious. More like a zin but with the super bold edge taken off. Big, bold and would go great with lamb or steak — 12 days ago
Lovely stupid.
Elegant that is elegant. So soft with cooked savory notes. Blackberries, black raspberries, creamy raspberries, dark cherries, plum, savory herbs, moist volcanic clay, some tarry notes, black licorice, mid berry cola, dark chocolate bar, salted caramel, nut skin, dark, rich earth with dry leaves, bright florals in a bouquet, excellent acidity with extremely well knitted, perfect structure, balance for days and smartly polished with a two-minute finish. — 2 months ago
There are worse ways to start a Saturday then tasting & talking wine with Tor Kenward & Andy Beskstoffer having the 1980 BV George Latour Private Reserve & multiple vintages of Tor. Wine 94 technically but age & style 9.6. The experience a 10.
Beautiful vintage and starting to spread its wings. Ripe, lush, ruby, floral dark currents. Volcanic clay, limestone powder, fresh tobacco w/ ash, dark, florals, round-round acidity, gorgeous, elegant finish with refined polish for days lasting nearly two-minutes.
Andy Beckstoffer sold fruit for $150 a ton in the late 1970’s, early 80’s. Today, $50,000 plus a ton and a percentage of the producers bottle price. — 13 days ago
Beautiful layered aromatics after decanting - medium body with minimal tannins, but long and elegant with notes of dark berries - 2019 vintage

Opened for a buddy’s birthday party. What a lovely surprise. Cork was a struggle, but hardly any seepage at all. On a table with a ridiculous amount of bottles, including standouts like ‘95 Opus, ‘85 Freemark Bosche, ‘74 Sterling Merlot, ‘13 Salon.
Pop and poured. Excellent youthful color! Deep ruby, hardly any bricking. Gorgeous aromatics of red and black berries, vanilla pipe tobacco, sweet spices. On the palate, it is wonderfully integrated and layered with stewed red and black fruits, fig, espresso, dusty coco (maybe fading signature Rutherford dust?), and a small bit of tannin at the finish keeping this buttoned-up and well structured. Excellent finish and balance. Held strong all evening. Seems as though this had a toe in the early ‘90s style of more bright Napa cabs and one toe in the late ‘90s/early ‘00s style of starting to increase ripeness…great marriage of the two. Pop and enjoy! — 15 days ago

Dark ruby. Nose is mellow on first open. Palette is excellent. Deep stewed fruits, acid, and tannin coming through on the finish. Really like this — 12 days ago
