2017: Outstanding producer making another great wine from a tough hot vintage. Even this young there is such balance between primary and secondary flavors with impressive concentration. This is as seamless as Sangiovese gets - cherry fruit, acid, minerals and leather in such a smooth package - and will develop even more over time. $55 on sale, $70+ elsewhere. — 9 months ago
Another great wine from this great, great producer. Aromatic with California ripeness yet fresh and lively. Raspberry, dark chocolate, dark cherry, herbs and spices. Great quality of fruit. Long finish. — 2 hours ago
Just fantastic tonight. Truly singing and such a wonderful example of classic Bordeaux from a producer we love and have had the good fortune to visit. Paired with a grilled leg of lamb on a beautiful early fall evening. Classic nose, seamless on the palate, great acid. Finish is slightly thin but still really a great wine. So fun. Opened 5 hours before drinking, no decant. — 2 years ago
A complex Chardonnay from renowned producer Steve Matthiasson. Sourced from Linda Vista vineyard, in the Oak Knoll District, at the southern end of the Napa valley. (Due to its proximity to the San Pablo Bay and the cool winds from the ocean, average summer temperatures are considerably cooler than in the upper valley, making it an ideal area for Chardonnay in Napa). Fermented and aged in neutral oak. Apples, melon, some buttery notes on the nose. Green apple on the palate. Fresh, good acidity. Slightly creamy, rounder and fruitier than the Chablis tasted next to it. Mineral, a hint of salinity

1986 vintage. Tasting like it was nearish the top on the downward slope. Unified palate push. That great old Bordeaux nose. Light-medium body. Ullage appropriate. The feminine characteristics that are the lifeblood of this producer almost completely absent with this bottle. Had this been blind, woulda speculated this to be a 1985-1989 upper-crust St. Julien. All that said, still very very nice. The near-perfect 1989 specimen tasted a little more than a week ago reminded me more of the previous encounters with the 1986 than this encounter with the 1986. — a year ago

See several previous Delectable notes. Deeply coloured but not deep in palate - medium bodied. Liquorice and almonds, a juicy palate. Finishes with a skinnsy bitter note. Great with free range chicken legs. Probably best drunk young. From a highly reputable producer in GD Vayra. My last bottle of 6. — 20 hours ago
