Absolutely adore this ephemeral tisane of a red wine. Kind of in the Anglore style, light but slightly spicy, stunning transluscent color. — 5 years ago

Silky smooth Pinot with lively cherry and leather notes with a long peppery finish. WS 90 for top value from Burgundy. — 2 years ago
Mise de Septembre 2003. Tasted June 2020. Mahogany/red brick color. Acetone aroma that quickly blows off. Palate is racy, sweet/sour. Balanced and complex. Good with parma prosciutto or serrano ham, thai chicken satay with peanut sauce, and pad thai. — 4 years ago
Like an herbal tisane (but boozier...) — 5 years ago
Funk and tart. Really rich leather. Opens up well after a day. — a year ago
Wow! So concentrated! Medium-deep gold color, candied lemon peel and clotted cream on the nose, with flowers and dry tisane bag with slightly oxidative depth, oak present but in the background, as if Krug made a still chardonnay in Sonoma. Palate is extremely concentrated but kept in balance by the high acidity. Unapologetically California — 2 years ago
Disgorged September 2018. A beautiful nose of white fruit, pastry, slightly toasted with custard hints (English cream), it also develops with more complexity with time in the glass and some air. The palate is superb, crisp acidity, it is mineral, such purity and precision, with lots of class and such elegance, beautiful .
92-93 — 4 years ago

One of the best gamay wines I’ve had recently. So much fresh cherry juice on the nose. Palate is more cherries, black currants, a bit of savory herbs, a tiny bit of game on the finish, overall just outstanding. Definitely had reduction on the nose on opening which went away after 20 minutes. I love gamay like this. — 2 months ago
