Cristal Brut Champagne Chardonnay Pinot Noir Blend 2009

Fantastic, pinnacle #champagne - incredibly fresh nose, lots of energy with lemon, pear on the nose, touch of brioche plus wet stone. Fine bubbles, definitely felt like this was still too young and would have developed additional complexity given another decade. #cristal — 4 months ago

Knights Bridge

Beckstoffer To-Kalon Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

2012 vintage. From the only other winery in Knights Valley besides that Peter Michael endeavor. This Beckstoffer To-Kalon/To Kalon/Tokalon/ToKalon (pick your interpretation-seen 'em all) goes for a older-school, much leaner approach vs the decided, new school, über-concentrated style as far as this vineyard is concerned. Goes even leaner than the older, vineyard incorporated Mondavi Reserves from the 80's/90's (which I would rate in the middle ground). All the way to the left for the history buffs. Tremendous concentration but on the dry, dusty, dirty side vs the biggie extracted ripe style in vogue the last decade+. Instructive and elucidating. Twere I doing a Tokalon Vineyard retrospective/blowout dinner, this wine would be first. 9.6.23. — 8 months ago

Chateau Montelena

Napa Valley Chardonnay 2017

I haven’t had a lot of experience with Napa Valley Chardonnay but this was most enjoyable. Rich and mouth filling, creamy. Stone fruit and almonds. Barb said white flowers on the nose. Apparently this was picked early and malolactic fermentation was blocked. Oak influence is totally integrated - balanced. I paid $147 AUD in Brisbane in September 2021. A lot dearer than what you might pay in the States I would guess. — a month ago

It is those Aussie US import-export fees. We were going to ship some Standish back to the States from the property and when Standish called us and said the shipping/import fees were are much as the three bottles, we passed. They’re not that had to find here.

ST Stone Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

This one has evolved very well and exceeded my expectations. Rich tannins and well integrated oak complement the juicy cherry and berry flavored palate. Chocolate and tobacco round out a great finish. — 2 months ago

Pepper Bridge

Estate Walla Walla Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity.

Showing blackberries, black currants, plums, oak, licorice, light vanilla, tobacco leaf, earth, dark coffee, dark chocolates and black pepper.

Tangy finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.

This 5 year old Cabernet Sauvignon based Bordeaux blend from Walla Walla Valley in Washington State is drinking very nicely now.

Elegant and rich. Fruit forward with lots of earth notes to compliment it.

Will continue to age nicely in the next 5 years. Spicy and entertaining.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

91 points.
