Blend with local Nebbiolo. Maybe less mineral than 2019. Good tar/roses, brambles, apple, some wet steel, very mellow tannins and acids, pretty young. From Amaro Spirits and Wine. 01/26//22 — 2 years ago
S&S have once again come they with their new Canadian Whiskey version. Slightly sweeter than the Bourbon version due to CDN Whiskey being higher in corn but not overly sweet. Will def add this to the regular drinker list. — 4 years ago
Floral, aromatic, and peppery. Inky tannins but good, bright acids. Some wet steel, violets, hint of coffee, red berry. A touch alcohol forward? From Astor Wines. 09/26/2023 — 7 months ago

pale peach color; nectarine, tangerine, orange peel; tart stone fruits, bit of phenolics; light bodied, dry, very fresh, only 11.5% ABV; blend of 44% Syrah, 26% Grenache, 25% Mourvèdre, and 5% Counoise with fruit primarily from Windmill Vineyard in Dunnigan Hills AVA in Yolo County with additional Syrah from Hurley Vineyard in Napa Valley; fruit picked early in July, whole-cluster pressed then fermented and aged on the lees in stainless steel with no malolactic fermentation; $22 — 4 years ago
This is Sassella Vigna degli Apostoli, the winery’s top bottling. My first Valtellina - the alpine Nebbiolo.
The nose is reminiscent of a good Barolo with tart cherry, steeped black tea, oak spices, dried mushroom, and violet. The palate leans on the fruity side, lively, smooth and poised. Mellow tannins. Finishes long.
From a small single Cru in Sassella, considered by most the best sub zone of Valtellina Superior. Aged in large oak barrels for 26 months, steel tanks for 3, and bottle for 36. I believe only 2 vintages release so far, ‘15 being the latest one. — 10 months ago
This wine is amazing. Comparable to the Stave and Steel but not as “thick” — a year ago

The Grand Siècle 26 is a blend of the three best wines from 2007, 2008 & 2012. 65% from 2012, 25% from 2008 and 10% from 2007 and composed of 58% Chardonnay and 42% Pinot Noir. They also cherry pick only the top of the steel tanks for this cuvée.
It flows juicy as it loads. Precision and focus. Incredibly creamy yet clean. Lemon, lime, green apple, both peaches, pineapple juice, green melon, faint caramel notes, cream, brioche, gram cracker crust, some bread dough, super fine delicate chalkiness & minerality, understated white spice at first and rises on your rooftop, field of spring flowers, perfect, rainfall acidity, well knitted, excellent structure, tension that is amazing yet understated, elegantly balanced and one of the best finishes one can know. It sings in the mouth. @ K&L Champagne tasting. — 5 months ago
