Old Weka Pass Road Pinot Noir 2016

See previous notes here on Delectable. Mid to pale ruby in colour. Pale yet powerful. Great aromatics of pansies, rose petals and violets also stalkiness. As Barb said the aromas of a beautiful garden. After a while an Animale, feral note not unlike some Burgundies we’ve had. Medium bodied palate - dried red fruits with a sweet yet savoury twist. A very polished new World Pinot by any measure. Tasters often identify with Central Otago and Martinborough for quality NZ Pinot Noir. Don’t forget about Canterbury in the South Island not far from the city of Christchurch. Luckily I have 2 left. Bob Campbell MW says drink through to 2025. — 7 months ago

That’s a good bit of age on a New world Chardy. Good to hear it was drinking well.

Quite nice, complex but not worh the price. Best with food...similar to an aussie shiraz in its pepper

Rabbit Ranch

Central Otago Pinot Noir 2017

Classic Pinot from this region, Smokey, blackberry bramble, citrus acid city.
Oddly, it hits all of the things I want from this region very well. Central Otago is the closest to Tasmania, in my Pinot Noir likings.

Bodega Del Desierto

Pampa Red Bordeaux Blend 2010

Bodega del Desierto ‘Desierto Pampa’ Red Blend 2010: Medium-full bodied. Fine tannins. Nice acidity. Black fruits. Blueberry. Tobacco. Vanilla. Oak. Long spice finish. Consisting of 40% Malbec, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon & 20% Syrah, this wine displayed great richness and complexity. All in all, a lovely Patagonian red blend that was drinking perfectly last night. Additionally, hoping this vintage will provide the inspiration for a winning result vs. Mexico as in the 2010 South Africa World Cup (which I was fortunate enough to attend in person) and let’s not forget in the 2006 Germany World Cup (which I watched from a bar in Mexico City). Vamos Argentina!!! 🇦🇷⚽️🍷 — a year ago
