On the Lawn at Tanglewood this afternoon with the Boston Pops Orchestra. Our conductors are David Newman and John Williams are leading a diverse program of cinematic works composed by John Williams entitled "Across The Stars: Music Of John Williams". We'll enjoy pieces from Star Wars (various episodes), Harry Potter, E.T., Memoirs of a Geisha and many others. All works to feature the violin virtuoso, Anne-Sophie Mutter, a personal favorite soloist of ours on these hallowed grounds. Mr. Williams has rearranged many of the selections today to better feature Ms. Mutter, an exciting afternoon will lay ahead. 🎼🎻
Nose has mashed strawberry/banana and cut red delicious apple.
Palate has sweet strawberry, banana peel, ripe red currant and light green herb notes.
The wine is 100% DeChaunac, a more common varietal for colder climates, like Ontario; fruit is sourced locally (FLX region) from Sheldrake Point.
The 2018 may just be the finest version of this wine to date, so juicy and expressive on the palate, just beautiful for this warm afternoon. — 5 years ago
Delicious. Took quite a while to open up, but was beautiful when did. — 4 months ago

Definitely ‘leflaive style’ bravo Anne Claude and the team for biodynamics. Rully at its finest (and maybe it’s most expensive as well) more than rully style, it screams leflaive. Reductive, elegant and yet powerful at the same time. A regal wine and for around $50 almost seems like a bargain. Probably could’ve let this age a few years but I do love the 2017 acid and precision so have at it! ***Don’t forget to sign up for my emails at Alex@nolimitfinewines.com for up to date offers on rare and limited wines at the best price USA... ask anyone, I don’t disappoint!*** — 4 years ago

A nicely aging monopole Chardonnay, loving the lightly oxidized yellow fruits.
Nose has oxidized, yellow apple skin peel, papaya and medium oak more notable today than prior bottles, albeit not distracting but embracing.
Palate has creamy, tropical fruits, over-ripe lemon and light minerality.
Just an exceptional bottle, likely the best of all the 'Clos de Malte' 2011's we've enjoyed to date. — 5 years ago
2020. I wanted to try something similar in body to the Pinot Noir, but with different aromas and flavors because my daughter has become interested in trying new pairings. Lighter than the Pinot, and had a brett aroma when first opened that was new and unappealing at first, but when it opened up in the decanter, it was our favorite with the grilled lamb kebab. — 5 months ago
What a great surprise it was to finally meet @Shay A and his family in-person, and at Classic no less! Both he and my wife coordinated a surprise tasting to help ring in my 30th birthday and it was on-point 👌🏻 15 wines, all Alexander Vineyards’ private labels or selections from other producers in their portfolio. All really fun to taste and talk about.
As for this champagne, arguably my WOTN 🥂 — 4 years ago

This wine is the 2021 Clau de Nell Chenin Blanc Anjou AOC, made from hand-harvested, low-yielding and biodynamically-farmed Chenin Blanc (yielding only 40 hL/ha) that was gently pressed and underwent a wild yeast fermentation in used Burgundian oak barrels. 🪵
After fermentation, this wine spent 6 months in stainless steel, before it rested for 12 months in used Burgundian oak, deep in the estate’s limestone cellars carved out of the famous tuffeau subsoils of Anjou.
The result is a 👁️ medium gold wine with 👃🏻 pronounced and concentrated aromas and flavors of ripe yellow apple, pear, quince, orange pith, chamomile, acacia, fennel, wet slate, cream, walnut, and honey. The 👄 palate is rich and mouth-coating, balanced by brightness and lift thanks to its high acidity and medium alcohol (13% ABV). Its flavor notes linger on and on. 👌🏻👌🏻
